The Great Victorian Bike Ride was another fantastic success as we joined 4200 riders and 400 volunteers to ride 600km over 9 days from Ballarat via Rokewood to Cobden and then up through the Grampians to the stopover at Halls Gap. During this pit-stop, some climbed Pinnacle Rock for a fabulous view over the country side before returning through Lake Bolac and Beauford to Ballarat.
The prevailing winds made riding hard for the first four days, but after we turned east, we then had strong tailwinds. These made riding much more pleasurable.
Those from Tallyho on the ride included, Dick Bartley, John Ovens, Ivan Petric, Mike McCann, Jimmy Lawrenson and Lindsay Spittle.
Also spotted on the ride were Mrs President, Di Pantazis and her daughter Antonia together with her neighbour Julie and her daughter Olivia.
"Brunetti" was well represented on the ride with the brand drawing many favourable comments.
Next year the 2009 GVBR starts in Portland and heads to Cape Bridgewater before returning to Portland and continuing east through Apollo Bay, Anglesea, Queenscliff and Finishing in Geelong.
